Last Saturday we found a part of Shropshire we had never visited before when we joined the North Shropshire Hunt for their Meet at Ightfield. The Meet was held next to the beautiful church of St John the Baptist. I now know that George Meredith, the father of Shrophire novelist Mary Webb, is buried in its churchyard.
As you can see from the photographs it was a beautiful setting, a crisp frosty morning and this, along with the warm welcome we received and the fact that I won the whisky draw, made it a very enjoyable day.
The full gallery of photographs from the Ightfield Meet may be found on the CountryStyle Photography website.

The North Shropshire Hunt organise four funrides every year with donations going to local charities. This year the dates are as follows:

All four are excellent funrides…hope to see you there!
